Expert Higher Education advice and guidance at The British School of Milan

All students experience an extensive and carefully tailored Higher Education progamme. They use the careers and university application tool Unifrog to make carefully informed choices and to prepare excellent applications for a wide range of universities from many different countries across the world.

Students are provided with personalized counselling and guidance as they make their future degree choices. They are supported from IB subject choices in Year 11 all the way through to post-application advice at the end of Year 13. We host an excellent programme of talks and presentations and a clear framework of guidance for all Year 12 and 13 students as well as involving parents in the process at every stage.

The British School of Milan has a long history of assisting students to achieve their full potential and ambitions: alumni have attended world-class universities in the UK, US, Italy and around the world. Our aim is to provide high quality information, advice and guidance on universities and further education so that all students:

  • secure the best possible offers for the best courses at some of the best universities in the world
  • enhance their life and career opportunities
  • make informed choices to pursue careers that best reflect their skills, aptitudes, and ambitions

The BSM Careers Programme

The school has a strategic approach to Careers. The programme starts in Key Stage 3 with raising awareness, develops in Key Stage 4 with specific work experience, and culminates with university choices and targeted careers advice in the Sixth Form. As BSM Alumni, students continue to benefit from the school's mentoring programmes and careers network after they leave school.

Careers Fair and Work Experience

The Friends of BSM, our parents' group, helps to organise an annual Careers Fair.  Over 50 professionals representing a wide range of careers and recruited from our parent and alumni bodies, give expert advice to our students from Years 10 to 13. Follow the link below to volunteer.

Our Year 10 students then start preparing for their Work Experience placement in the Summer Term. If you might be able to offer Work Experience opportunities to our students or alumni, please follow the link below to offer opportunities to our students.
