BSM Eisteddfod
The National Eisteddfod of Wales can be traced back to 1176 when the first Eisteddfod was held in Cardigan, Wales.
The Eisteddfod was a grand cultural gathering to which were invited poets and musicians from all over the country.
The concept of the BSM Eisteddfod takes this idea to create a House competition based on academic subjects. The Eisteddfod is an opportunity for students to engage in friendly competition between the three Houses - Drake, Darwin and Austen - and earn points for their House.
The result is a final Eisteddfod Day, usually in March, with the House which gains the most points winning the Eisteddfod along with the individual who gains most points winning the Eisteddfod Chair.
