Cookies Policy
COOKIE POLICY
WHAT ARE COOKIES? Cookies are small text files sent by the site to the user’s device (usually the browser), where they are stored and then transmitted back to the site on the user’s next visit. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user’s hard drive, transmit computer viruses, or acquire email addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser. Some cookie functions may be provided by other technologies. In this document, the term “cookie” refers both to cookies strictly speaking and to all similar technologies.
Through cookies it is possible to record information relating to your preferences, such as the pages you visit or the downloading of files from our site, or other similar actions carried out while browsing our site.
FIRST- OR THIRD-PARTY COOKIES Cookies can be first- or third-party: “first-party” means cookies developed by the owner of the site itself, while “third-party” means cookies developed by parties other than the site owner.
NATURE OF COOKIES Depending on their nature, there are different types of cookies:
Technical cookies: technical cookies are used solely to “carry out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the contracting party or user to provide such service” (see art. 122, paragraph 1 of the Code). They are not used for any further purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or manager of the website. They can be divided into:
– navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal browsing and use of the website (allowing, for example, a purchase to be made or authentication to access restricted areas); they are in fact necessary for the proper functioning of the site;
– analytics cookies with user data anonymised (e.g., browsing IP), treated as technical cookies when used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site, in order to improve site performance;
– functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse according to a set of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided. The user’s prior consent is not required for the installation of these cookies (more information in the “Cookie management” section below).
Profiling cookies Profiling cookies are used to link specific actions or recurring behavioural patterns in the use of the offered functionalities (patterns) to identified or identifiable individuals, for the purpose of grouping different profiles within homogeneous clusters of varying size. This allows the controller to tailor the provision of the service in an increasingly personalised way beyond what is strictly necessary to provide the service, and to send targeted advertising messages, i.e., in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing the web.
In the case of third-party cookies, the site has no direct control over individual cookies and cannot control them (it can neither install them directly nor delete them). However, you can manage these cookies through your browser settings or the sites indicated in the “Acceptance and refusal of cookies” section.
The user is therefore invited to consult the third party’s website indicated below.

COOKIE DURATION Cookies have a duration determined by the expiry date (or by a specific action such as closing the browser) set at the time they are installed. Cookies can be:
- temporary or session cookies (session cookies): used to store temporary information, they make it possible to link actions performed during a specific session and are removed from the computer when the browser is closed;
- persistent cookies: used to store information, for example a login name and password, so that the user does not have to type them again each time they visit a specific site. These remain stored on the computer even after the browser is closed.
So-called session cookies, once the connection to this website ends, are not stored. The IT systems used for this site use temporary cookies and persistent cookies.
ACCEPTANCE AND REFUSAL OF COOKIES
User consent is not required for the installation of technical cookies and analytics cookies.
Profiling cookies or other tracking tools, on the other hand, may be used only if the user has given their consent after being informed. This site uses a banner that allows those who wish to provide their consent.
If the user does not wish to provide consent, they may close the banner by selecting the X button at the top right of the banner / clicking “reject”, keeping the default settings that do not allow the use of cookies or other tracking tools other than technical ones.
If you wish, you can also manage cookies directly through your browser settings. However, deleting cookies from your browser may remove the preferences you have set for this site, so it is advisable to visit this page periodically to review your choices.
